Ian Tomlinson BSc (Hons), MEd (Manchester University).
My interest in psychotherapy and counselling comes from the impact it had on me the first time I experienced it as a client. Within weeks I had changed the way I thought about myself and others. This had a fundamental and lasting affect on my enjoyment of life.
I gained my certificate in Counselling skills from Salford College in 1997 and I am now in Advanced Clinical Training in Transactional Analysis.
I am a member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis and I am bound by its code of ethics. I have regular supervision with a highly qualified and experienced supervisor.
I founded Manchester Psychotherapy in 2008 and have enjoyed working with a diverse variety of clients. I have experience working with a whole range of issues including stress, anxiety, addictions, weight issues, relationship concerns, self harm and loss.
I know what it's like to be sat in the client's seat and I will give you lots of support and reassurance. Equally, I wouldn't be an effective therapist if I didn't challenge false beliefs when the time is right. We can work together to relieve any emotional distress you are feeling and then progress to achieving the goals you have set yourself.
